Recruiting
Détail Québec goes to job fairs and into schools to promote careers in the retail sector to jobseekers, students, and the public at large. It has set up a free job board available exclusively to the retail trade.
Networking
In collaboration with industry players, Détail Québec has set up workforce development activities as well as networking opportunities for Québec retailers.
Human resource management
Détail Québec has also produced reference tools to help retailers manage their human resources. And it publishes a quarterly newsletter, La Vitrine, that keeps retailers informed about retail trade human resource management practices.
Training
Thanks to the Mutuelle de formation du commerce, Détail Québec helps develop workforce skills through its training courses designed for both the sector’s workers and managers.
Recognition of skills
The labour sector committee’s expertise has enabled it to develop occupational standards for the positions of retail sales associate and first level manager. It has also set up a process for the evaluation and certification of skills of experienced workers that leads to certification by the Ministère de l'Emploi et de la Solidarité sociale.

Détail Québec also contributes to the development and the promotion of training programs specific to the retail trade and promotes careers in the sector.
